Apprentice to sorrow, rooted in soul.
I hold sacred space for what longs to be witnessed.
Water, ritual, light, and remembering.
Here to care for the village.
I’m Rachel, a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) specializing in trauma healing, sacred touch, and soul reconnection for women.
I’m also a woman who’s walked the quiet road of disconnection myself. I know what it feels like to carry too much in your body. The unspoken grief, the unmet longing, the buzzing anxiety, the ache for something more.
Through years of working with women’s bodies and stories, I’ve learned that trauma isn’t just a memory; it’s a lived experience in the nervous system. And healing is not about "fixing" yourself. It’s about returning to your body as a loving place. A sacred place.
My Story & Approach
At the heart of my work is a deep belief: that we are each here at this time for a reason. That beauty, grief, soul, and community are not luxuries — they are necessary. And that healing isn’t something we do alone. It happens together, in the dark, in the quiet, patiently and expectantly, waiting for something to emerge.
I am a grief tender, somatic therapist, and soul guide. I am rooted in the wisdom of ancestors — German and Scottish lineages marked by poverty, war, and survival — carrying a deep apprenticeship to sorrow.
My work is an offering. A quiet invitation into what is too often avoided: the descent, the wound, the long silence before something true emerges.
Through years of trauma-informed practice and spiritual training, I have cultivated an approach that is both deeply embodied and radically human.
This — whether in ritual, session, or shared silence — is about medicine. It’s about helping others remember who they are, be witnessed in their truth, and let grief become a doorway rather than a wall.
I guide in the work of Francis Weller, Thomas Hübl, and other lineage-holders of mysticism, grief ritual, and collective healing. I host intimate practice groups, one-on-one work, and ceremonial experiences that span from sacred water rituals to rites of passage.
My future vision includes creating a healing space on land — a place where wisdom-keepers, healers, and seekers can retreat, reconnect, and remember.
Honouring & Acknowledging
The journey of reconnecting with my Celtic and Germanic heritage was inspired by years of shamanic study with several medicine women from Turtle Island, which deepened my understanding of myth, story, animism and Women’s Mysteries. In these ancient traditions, every tree, stone, and river is imbued with spirit, and the wisdom of the land weaves through the cycles of life, death, and transformation. The sacred myths of goddesses, heroines, and spirits serve as a reminder that grief and dying are not separate from life but integral to its rhythm. These stories guide me in tending to grief, offering a perspective where loss is not an end but a passage, an opportunity to honour both the living and the dead. Through the spirits of my ancestors and the land itself, I embrace grief as a sacred process of reconnection, drawing strength and healing from an animistic worldview that carries the wisdom of the past into the present.
As a white cis woman, settler, and descendant of European ancestry, I bring an awareness of privilege and historical complexity to my work as a somatic therapist in Tkaronto*. I recognize the responsibility that comes with my identity, particularly when working with BIPOC and historically marginalized individuals. As a neurodivergent and Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) myself, I approach therapy with deep empathy and an acute sensitivity to the needs of others, prioritizing safety and understanding. My own experiences as a trauma survivor inform my work, fostering a compassionate and non-judgmental space for healing. Acknowledging that learning is an ongoing process, I remain committed to humility, growth, and ensuring that every person I work with feels seen, heard, and valued. My practice is centred on trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care that honours the diverse experiences of each individual on their healing journey.
